Q & A:

Name, state department or agency.

California Highway Patrol, Lieutenant (Retired)

What do you enjoy most about working as a Loaned Executive on the OP campaign?

I enjoy doing presentations about causes I am passionate about. I also enjoy interacting with people who have like goals and interests (e.g., helping others, animals).

How long have you been involved in or volunteered with the campaign?

I have been involved since last year. This is my second campaign season.

What inspires you to give through the campaign?

The United Way Square One Project inspires me, as I believe education and advanced education and/or trade school is a key component to success. I currently donate monthly directly to the United Way California Capital Region. Further, my son, Michael is visually impaired (legally blind). He has benefited from many important nonprofit programs that have assisted in shaping his life and future. He is currently a scholarship athlete (distance runner) at William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA.

What nonprofits do you donate time or funds to, and why?

I give or have given to United Way, Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM), The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA), US Paralympics, and Folsom High School Cross Country/Track & Field Booster Club.

Any other comments you’d like to add?

I consider it a great privilege to work as a Campaign Executive for the Our Promise Campaign.
